Freestyle BMX

While BMX originally started as an imitation of motocross, a sport of running and jumping, an event with limited track soon became something very different. While BMX racing is still very much alive and well, driving style that many of us now associated with the sport is freestyle.

The main component of freestyle is an emphasis on interesting extreme stunts. There are a number of different disciplines in freestyle the most popular among users who are 'street'.

The street riding involves performing complex maneuvers on obstacles to provision curbs and stairs to the walls and platforms available. There is a junction with the styles of street and park. BMXing Park revolves around the use of concrete built parks skate ramps and the use of other specific structures. Many runners use the parks as training for street riding or vice versa, which also crosses vert over (the most extreme style, using a half pipe for intense stunts.)

Discipline in the final freestyle leg is the plain. This has no crossings with previous styles, with most plain pilots strictly adhere to the plain. Use a flat terrain and consists of tricks around the equilibrium and position. It is the handling of the bike in new forms or turn in a very controlled.

Freestyle BMX has grown to the status of extreme sport recent years and the popularity of BMX bikes shows no signs of abating. However, in the same way that freestyle evolved, it is likely that the sport will evolve and push new limits to what one can achieve in the BMX bikes. Learn the tricks and practice safely is a big commitment and can eat up lot of free time. However, the rewards are far worth the effort.
